” Dead Dragonfly Luck “

” As I was telling my story … uh. I should say stories … well it’s a lot about one … This one is about [ D.D.L. ]! An acronym I gave it. Dead Dragonfly Luck I called it. D.D.L. became the abbreviation for what feels like my saving grace since the small age of 5! 5 years from that age on a day when the wind was slow and the birds were singing I recall a lonely black plastic bag just flying ever so carelessly. The music from a red pickup truck distracted me, but the box I had my dragonfly in was my lucky charm. At age 15 … I found flies on my head after I fell asleep while reading a story at the park one day I recall, but that nickel that I gave my Dad that day to buy the box for preserved dragonfly always saved me from getting into a pickle! … Age 20 … and fickel is far from your eyes to your foot how important this dead dragonfly is to me! Elegant like a white gold necklace purchase a mom could make for his son … At age 25 I recall no horrors to my memory but the dragonfly is always what did save me! … I am 46 now! … Age 30 is honestly what a grim reaper showed, but the D.D.L. always saved my life! … Age 35 … I just forget the moments … It’s like there’s a flash … like thangy from Men in Black movie … What was I saying again?” … … …

” I ran over a turtle today on a back country road. As I looked in the rearview it rolled three times then sprouted wings out of its shell and flew away. The dead possums, squirrels, and dead deer carcasses I have seen seemed normally dead … all killed by road rage drivers … Also seen were 4-6 people on the sides of a road stuck with police from an accident they were in. No humans were dead this day. October 24th, 2024 is the current date. Logged in my journal as name ” Army-Man ” Jack Hugo. I am now currently retired, and also a veteran of foreign wars. The nickname ” Army-Man ” came from when I used to eat chicken. Weekly meals are bought from a local Chinese restaurant. ” Chicken Teriyaki ‘Army-Man … Ah yes! How nice to see you again! ” A torn back. Shoulder or high arm smack! … Yet my brother telling me I’m an idiot savant motivated me stronger than any pain I’ve ever felt … any prayer I’ve ever knelt … for! … Wings … feathers.
