D.D.L. became the abbreviation for what feels like my saving grace since the small age of 5! 5 years from that age on a day when the wind was slow and the birds were singing I recall a lonely black plastic bag just flying ever so carelessly. The music from a red pickup truck distracted me, but the box I had my dragonfly in was my lucky charm. At age 15 … I found flies on my head after I fell asleep while reading a story at the park one day I recall, but that nickel that I gave my Dad that day to buy the box for preserved dragonfly always saved me from getting into a pickle! … Age 20 … and fickel is far from your eyes to your foot how important this dead dragonfly is to me! Elegant like a white gold necklace purchase a mom could make for his son … At age 25 I recall no horrors to my memory but the dragonfly is always what did save me! … I am 46 now! … Age 30 is honestly what a grim reaper showed, but the D.D.L. always saved my life! … Age 35 … I just forget the moments … It’s like there’s a flash … like thangy from Men in Black movie … What was I saying again?” … … …
